Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to manage and support our clients' Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows servers and systems to ensure high availability and security. Key Responsibilities: System Installation and Configuration: • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016/2019/2022). • Set up and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies. • Deploy and configure Windows-based applications and services. System Monitoring and Maintenance: • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. • Apply patches, service packs, and security updates regularly. • Perform routine audits of systems and software. Security and Compliance: • Implement and maintain security best practices including access controls, firewalls, and antivirus solutions. • Ensure systems meet compliance standards (e.g., ISO, HIPAA, or company-specific policies). • Manage user permissions and privileges. Backup and Recovery: • Implement and manage system backup and recovery procedures. • Conduct disaster recovery planning and testing. Support and Troubleshooting: • Provide Tier 2/3 support for technical issues related to Windows systems. • Resolve service tickets and respond to alerts within defined SLAs. • Collaborate with other IT teams for escalated issues. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. • Generate reports on system health, performance, and usage. Automation and Scripting: • Use PowerShell or similar tools to automate administrative tasks. • Optimize system processes through scripting and automation. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 3+ years of experience in Windows server administration. • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, or Azure Administrator) preferred. • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware). • Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS) is a plus. • Familiarity with ITIL practices is advantageous. Skills: • Deep understanding of Windows Server architecture and services. • Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong communication and documentation skills.
