ABOUT OATH: The City of New York’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the nation’s largest administrative tribunal, holding approximately 400,000 trials and hearings a year. As the City’s central, independent administrative law court, OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters filed by nearly every city agency, board and commission. OATH also houses the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution which provides mediation and restorative justice support to City government agencies and the general public, and the Administrative Judicial Institute, a resource center that provides training, continuing education, research and support services for administrative law judges and hearing officers. JOB DESCRIPTION: The IT Department is seeking to hire a systems architect/developer to provide strategic and day-to-day software support for the Agency’s main adjudications systems. Duties include but are not limited to: - Gather requirements from business users and other agency leaders regarding new functionality, legal compliance issues, reporting and other areas as needed. - Coordinate periodic maintenance for all software within the application stack to comply with security and compatibility requirements - Perform corrections and updates to code and data as needed to respond to reported issues - Ensure accuracy and distribution of reports and correspondence. - Design, develop new UI screens, and integrate the user defined rules into the application. - Manage the electronic data transmissions from upstream and downstream entities. - Perform system and unit testing for software releases. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
