Job Title: Fin Ops/Cloud Architect Location: Block 23 What you'll do: As the Cloud Architect, you'll be a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, defining and leading architectural priorities that advance the organization's business and technology strategy within a specific domain. You'll participate in governance forums such as the Architecture Standards Board (ASB) and Technology Review Board (TRB), manage the business capability inventory, develop standards and patterns, and seek approval from ASB. Additionally, as Architect III, you'll be responsible for designing and documenting solution architecture related to applications and capabilities in your domain, ensuring designs are secure, compliant, and meet business needs. You'll review solution architectures in TRB to ensure alignment with standards. This role is pivotal for cloud platform expertise, spend optimization, and is integral to Western Alliance Bank's digital transformation, including migrating workloads to Azure Cloud and utilizing cloud-native services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. As a Fin Ops Architect, you'll craft and execute cloud cost optimization strategies across Azure, AWS, and SaaS products, analyze spending, identify savings, and lead cost management initiatives. Responsibilities include: • Advocate for architecture principles and standards, promoting value through standardization and reuse. • Identify and lead opportunities for technological advancements and incorporate them into roadmaps. • Develop reference architectures and support governance for various cloud technologies. • Implement and monitor cost optimization strategies and dashboards. • Collaborate with diverse teams to maintain cloud spend and environment stability. • Negotiate with vendors and lead a Fin Ops team. • Design secure, scalable hybrid cloud solutions and ensure compliance. • Establish relationships with cloud vendors and communicate solutions to stakeholders. What you'll need: • 10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years in cloud architecture and cost optimization. • Bachelor's degree in a related field. • Leadership experience preferred. • Knowledge of financial services or banking is a plus. • Expertise in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), architecture blueprints, and security practices. • Proficiency in automation scripting (Power Shell, CLI). • Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels. • Ability to think strategically and objectively about technology choices.
