Job Opening: Network Engineer Data Center (Contract) Location: On-site San Francisco, San Ramon, and Sunnyvale (Equinix Data Center) Type: Contract (Local candidates only) We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team for a contract role supporting on-site infrastructure operations across our Bay Area locations, including the Equinix data center in Sunnyvale. This is a hands-on, infrastructure-focused position, ideal for candidates with strong Cisco and data center experience. Responsibilities: • Provide on-site support for installations and incident troubleshooting at: • San Francisco, CA (94104) • San Ramon, CA (94583) • Sunnyvale, CA (94089 Equinix Data Center) • Act as the primary liaison with Equinix for all data center-related tasks • Oversee installation and support of: • Power systems (UPS, PDUs) • Cooling systems • Racks, cabinets, structured cabling, and network interconnects Requirements: • Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • 4+ years of experience in: • Cisco-based network engineering • Supporting and managing hosted data centers • Certifications: CCNA or CCNP (preferred) Key Skills & Technologies: • Cisco hardware (Switches, Routers, Wireless, Firewalls) • Cisco NX-OS (7k/9k), L2/L3 protocols (RSTP, EIGRP, BGP) • Data center spine-leaf topology (L2/L3 out) • Network automation with Python, Ansible, or Terraform • Cisco DNA & DCNM (admin & automation) • SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, Firepower, ASA, Forescout • Azure networking (VNET, ExpressRoute), InfoBlox • Monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace), Forward Network Desirable: • Network Access Control • Security posture assurance • Configuration drift remediation • Disaster recovery planning • ITIL certification/experience preferred
