Job Summary As the thought leader in the healthcare IT security space, Fortified Health Security is looking for an Implementation Security Engineer to join our growing team! The Implementation Security Engineer will be responsible for executing and completing the lifecycle of the implementation process to include pre-implementation planning and kickoff, assessing the customer’s needs and requirements, developing a tailored implementation roadmap, deployment, and configuration of the required technology, and providing demonstration and training with the customer as needed. As the first individual to interact with the customer outside of the sales process, the Implementation Security Engineer will set the tone for the customer relationship and will also confirm in the minds of our customer's technical staff that Fortified brings the technical knowledge that will enhance their security posture. Essential Job Functions The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required. • Deploy and configure security technology solutions (EDR/XDR, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, IoMT) according to best practices, ensuring seamless integration with existing client infrastructure. • Customize and fine-tune security technology platforms to meet the specific needs of the client, including setting up rules, alerts, dashboards, and reports. • Assists with and executes from inception to completion implementation related projects and efforts: • Pre-implementation planning and kickoff. • Assessing the customer’s needs and requirements. • Developing a tailored implementation roadmap. • Deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of the required technologies. • Timely communication of project updates to internal and external stakeholders. • Demonstration/training with the customer as needed. • Assists clients with the configuration and troubleshooting of servers, workstations, security products, and network equipment as required by the security technology implementation. • Acts as liaison between clients and third parties, such as service providers and technology vendors, when required to support implementation efforts. • Owns troubleshooting efforts and related technology defect or RFE tracking through the implementation process. • Participates in calls with clients to review security solutions, alerts, metrics, and remediation tasks as necessary. • Identifies and proposes implementation process improvements and automation. • Contributes to the maintenance of implementation standard operating procedure and related process and technology documentation. • Maintains documentation regarding customer interactions. • Provides occasional Pre- and Post-Sales support to the Fortified Sales team. • Maintains specific security technology, general application & industry knowledge through self-study and by attending training classes. Knowledge & Skills Education & Experience • Associate’s degree in related field or a relevant combination of training and experience. • 2+ years of proven work experience as an Information Security Engineer or equivalent role. • Hospital Operations or Healthcare IT experience greatly preferred. Special Skills & Knowledge • 2+ years of Enterprise EDR Implementation/Operational experience (e.g. SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender/Sentinel XDR). (required) • 1 – 2 years of SIEM Implementation/Operational experience (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Exabeam, IBM QRadar, AlienVault). (required) • 1 – 2 years of Vulnerability Management Implementation/Operational experience (preferred). • Hands-on experience with security solutions, including, but not limited to, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network access control, endpoint security, identity and access management systems, SIEM, log management, data loss prevention, content filtering, email security, etc. • Knowledge of network security, network topologies, network technologies and an understanding of the OSI Model. • Working knowledge of system, security, network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, etc.). • Understanding of common Information Technology concepts and terminology. • Resourcefulness and ability to take the initiative in development and completion of work projects. • Ability to think logically for interpreting, analyzing, and discussing client needs to evaluate appropriate options and identify solutions. • Ability to create, run and troubleshoot python, shell, powershell scripts. Licenses, Certifications, etc. • Relevant security certifications (i.e., CISSP, SSCP, HCISPP, CEH, GSEC, etc.). • Other desired technology certifications (i.e., RHCA, MCSE, CCNA, etc.).
