Azure Cloud Architect Description PRISM is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect to support a federal agency in Washington, DC. The Azure Cloud Architect will be responsible for the architecture design, planning, management, support, and oversight of the Azure PaaS/IaaS environment, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions that align with the agency's mission and objective Job Duties • Conceptualize, design, and architect Azure PaaS/IaaS environments, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. • Develop architectural deliverables, provide expert guidance, and implement solutions based on in-depth Azure domain knowledge. • Drive architectural decisions, assess alternatives, weigh risks and benefits, and recommend optimal cloud solutions. • Build reference applications and infrastructures that demonstrate elasticity, fault tolerance, and event-driven architecture. • Drive proof-of-concept prototypes to evaluate cloud feasibility, validate architectures, and demonstrate technological advantages. • Design secure, scalable networking solutions, including NSGs (Network Security Groups), VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and firewall configurations for optimal cloud performance. • Implement IAM, encryption, and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with standards such as NIST, and FedRAMP. • Leverage CI/CD pipelines, Configuration as Code tools like Terraform/Bicep, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for streamlined operations. • Design cost-effective architectures, utilizing reserved instances, autoscaling, right-sizing, and cloud financial management tools. • Anticipate architectural changes, develop transition strategies, and ensure seamless cloud adoption. • Identify, analyze, and resolve cloud infrastructure challenges, balancing risks and rewards to meet business goal Education & Experience • Ten (10) years of experience with a proven track record in Azure design, support, and management within a large-scale organization. • Fifteen (15) years of overall IT experience spanning system architecture, cloud technologies, and enterprise solutions. • Hands-on experience with cloud platform technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, or similar environments. • Expert-level knowledge of virtual application delivery technologies and their implementation. • Experience in building, deploying, and managing Linux, UNIX, and Windows-based environments. • Proficiency in supporting and documenting build and configuration changes across multiple environments. • Strong understanding of industry-standard system architecture, system management concepts, and associated tools. • Experience in the design, deployment, and operational support of large, complex enterprise systems. • Knowledge and practical experience with Azure cost control tools, including Azure Cost Management + Billing, to optimize cloud spending Hybrid Work Schedule : Must be onsite three days per week in DC Office
