Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, database architecture, and performance tuning, with a deep understanding of data management best practices and emerging technologies. Responsibilities • Design and implement physical database architectures, including complex data models and large-scale database systems (100+ tables, sizes greater than 1TB). • Lead the creation of data models using ERwin or other industry-standard data modeling tools. • Maintain and enhance the enterprise data model repository. • Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). • Provide performance tuning, database optimization, and instance monitoring for both real-time and batch processing systems. • Collaborate with business users and developers to understand their data needs and design effective data solutions. • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies, including tablespace utilization and database capacity planning. • Ensure that the design and deployment of databases align with the project’s goals and objectives. • Coordinate testing efforts with development teams and ensure successful testing and implementation of data solutions. Qualifications • Strong experience in Oracle and SQL Server database architecture, including performance tuning and optimization. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in database architecture, data modeling, and data management, with a strong focus on large-scale systems. • Hands-on experience with large-scale database environments (greater than 1TB) and complex data models (100+ tables). • Strong SQL experience in writing optimized queries for both batch and real-time systems. • Experience with DataStage ETL (preferred), and proficiency in ETL best practices and performance optimization. • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts such as Star Schema and relational database design. • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
