Job Overview Mosaic Learning is seeking a driven and technically skilled Manager of DevOps with a strong background in hands-on DevOps work, particularly with Kubernetes, alongside experience in managing high-performance teams. This is a hybrid role where the Manager will both lead and mentor the DevOps team while remaining deeply involved in the technical work, such as architecture, system performance, and cloud infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling SaaS platforms, maintaining high uptime, and ensuring the security of the Mosaic Learning multi-tenant platform. The Manager must be a strong communicator, capable of conveying complex technical solutions to cross-functional teams and leadership. They should be highly adept at problem-solving, thinking strategically, and finding new ways to improve platform scalability, security, and performance. Responsibilities • Lead the DevOps team, driving innovation and ensuring best practices while remaining involved in technical DevOps tasks. • Collaborate with Software Development and Project Management teams to plan, estimate, and execute project work, while managing risk and addressing obstacles proactively. • Be directly involved in infrastructure design, deployment, and management, ensuring optimized, scalable, and secure operations. • Hands-on work with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation, ensuring the platform meets performance, security, and compliance targets. • Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, leveraging monitoring tools, with a preference for experience using the Grafana stack (Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Faro, Tempo, etc). • Continue the modernization of the technology stack, microservice architectures, balancing long-term strategy with immediate technical needs. • Manage compliance initiatives, system uptime, and performance while troubleshooting and optimizing infrastructure in real-time as needed. • Ensure team success through mentorship, performance management, and personal involvement in solving complex technical issues. • A focus on customer satisfaction and maintaining high performance and uptime standards. • We value candidates who demonstrate attention to detail. If this is you, describe yourself in one word: CloudReady Requirements • 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, preferably in EdTech or Enterprise Software environments. • Extensive experience in Kubernetes cluster management and optimizing cloud infrastructure (AWS or Microsoft Azure). • Proficiency in Continuous Integration (CI), DevOps Transformation, and Testing Automation frameworks. • Background in Enterprise Information Security frameworks, including FedRAMP, HiTrust, and NIST (preferred but not required). • Experience with programming languages such as Go (Golang), PHP, Java, or JavaScript (Node.js, React.js) is desired. • Knowledge of SQL, Enterprise Data Warehousing, and Data Transformation. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience. • Strong leadership and project management skills in fast-paced environments, with the ability to balance client growth and technical deliverables. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to work cross-functionally and with external vendors. • We value candidates who demonstrate attention to detail.
