We are looking for an exceptionally skilled Principal Data Scientist with deep knowledge and practical experience in NLP, ML, deep learning, LLM, and GenAI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement the cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions to empower our business stakeholders across Customer Care, Supply Chain, Store Operation, and Last Mile Delivery to improve associate and customer experience and drive operational efficiencies. You will play a pivotal role in setting the technical direction for the team and achieving our business objectives. You are task- and detail-oriented while understanding the broader business landscape. What You’ll Do • Formulating a strategy and roadmap for the development, implementation and efficiency monitoring of NLP, ML, LLM and GenAI models. • Translating business problems into technical solutions, leveraging data and advanced NLP, ML, LLM and GenAI methodologies. • Leading the design, development, and deployment of GenAI and NLP models for business customers E2E. • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, data governance, engineering, and product team, to design, develop, and deploy AI ML models into production environments with a focus on reliability and scalability. • Upholding standards, governance, and best practices in AI ML model development and compliance with model and data governance standards. • Supervising a team of 3 to 5 top talents in NLP, ML, LLM, GenAI and providing mentoring to foster their professional growth and development. • Engaging in effective communication with business stakeholders regarding insights, model outcomes, and the strategic importance of AI initiatives. What We’re Looking For • Ph.D (preferred), Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 7+ years of professional hands-on experience leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data for data-driven analytics and insights using ML, NLP, GenAI solutions. • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and could platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure. • Strong background in GenAI/NLP, machine learning, deep learning in the retail industry, particularly within retail operations. • Experienced with ML, NLP, GenAI model development, and familiarity with current trends in LLMs and open-source platforms. • Experience in developing and optimizing RAG models to facilitate effective information retrieval and generation in conversational AI systems. • Experience in applying GitOps and CI/CD principles into infrastructure automation. • Proficiency or familiarity with RESTful APIs and their integration into various software environments. • Strong full stack data science skills. • Strategic thinker with strong technical and business acumen and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Experience mentoring junior machine learning scientists.
