Description GovCIO is currently hiring for a Java Developer to support the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) in upgrading and transitioning our application infrastructure to the Azure Cloud. This role involves implementing critical system upgrades, including FileNet and integrating new document management technologies such as IBM DataCap. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Java development, FileNet, and be adept with Agile and DevOps methodologies, with specific skills in Oracle 19c DB and WebLogic 14c R2. The total compensation package may also include additional compensation elements to be discussed during the hiring process. Skills • Extensive experience in Java development, particularly J2EE • Proficiency in frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate • Experience with Oracle WebLogic and Oracle 19c DB • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools • Familiarity with QA frameworks and testing methodologies • Ability to implement and maintain DevOps processes and tools • Experience with FileNet Content Manager and IBM DataCap or similar systems preferred Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services for FileNet and IPS Suite environments • Upgrade/migrate legacy systems to Azure Cloud, ensuring compatibility and performance • Integrate EBTS applications to support FileNet 5.5.12 and IBM DataCap • Collaborate to re-engineer applications for Oracle 19c DB and WebLogic 14c R2 • Support the entire software development lifecycle, including testing and maintenance • Develop and sustain DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshoot production issues • Assist with change management for PBGC employees adapting to new technologies • Actively participate in Agile project management activities Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 12+ years of experience • 12 years of professional experience in Java development • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies • Clear Public Trust clearance required Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field • Additional certifications in Java, FileNet, Oracle, WebLogic, or Azure preferred Education Requirements Credential Category • Bachelor’s degree Experience Requirements • 12 years of experience in Java development • Experience with cloud migration projects, particularly to Azure • Proven ability to implement and maintain DevOps processes and tools Why work in Carson City, NV Carson City, the capital of Nevada, offers a unique blend of scenic beauty, historical significance, and access to recreational activities.
