The IT Systems Specialist will collaborate with the Assistant Director, IT to develop, document and maintain existing software and to evaluate and implement new technological solutions. They will be responsible for providing tier 1 support for staff and volunteers. Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To • Document and track support requests and resolutions in our ticketing system. • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and technical issues. • Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues. • Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs, comparing programs with established standards and making necessary agreed-upon modifications. Recommend changes and modifications for review by Director, IT Applications to approve and adopt. • Develop, document, analyze, create and test Windows virtual desktops; evaluate system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs and recommend which out-of-date systems should be retired. • Evaluates vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives, testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs. • Monitor systems to identify potential system errors and document instructions and other system information. • Evaluate factors such as compatibility, usability and cost to determine the best use of technology. • Places hardware into production by establishing connections; entering necessary commands. • Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions. • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions. • Develop, document, analyze, create, test and implement Windows virtual desktops and support users • Manage network connectivity from multifunctional copier/scanner/printer devices to network, email and 3 rd party applications • Maintain and implement cyber security policy • Manage Windows 10/11 PC units in conference rooms, ensuring security is updated and to troubleshoot any technical issues • Provide ongoing software support and training for Cyber Security, New User Virtual Desktop overview, and Multifunctional copier/printer/scanner devices at 40 Wall. • Provide IT support for both internal and external users including volunteers and staff • Other duties as required Education And Experience • BS/BA science degree or 5+ years’ work experience in relevant field • Knowledge of IT and cyber security • Experience working in a Windows and Microsoft 365 environment • Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams Meetings Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities • Knowledge of IT and cyber security • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting and analytical skills required • A strong comprehension of technical concepts with the ability to communicate effectively to individuals of various technical abilities, skills and backgrounds • Strong analytical skills with fine attention to detail • Ability to prioritize and escalate problems and communicate issues • Ability to lift equipment up to 40 lbs including moving servers, workstations and printers • Ability to work evenings when necessary • Able to work with minimum supervision
