Location: Houston, TX, US, 77049 Work Arrangement: Onsite Dover Precision Components is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Cook Compression brand, located at our South Houston/ Pearland, TX facility. The core hours of this role are Monday- Friday 7am- 4pm. As the Manufacturing Supervisor, you oversee 1st shift (core hours), 2nd shift, and weekend shift. We offer flex time in core hours should you support 2nd shift and/or weekend shift. The typical commitment is ½ shift once a month for both 2nd and weekend shifts. What You’ll Do The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading a team and driving productivity while ensuring a safe and collaborative environment. The Manufacturing Supervisor will direct and coordinate the activities of the respective production in processing, manufacturing and repairing products. Responsibilities include: • Lead a production team of around 35 people, overseeing day shift Monday- Friday (core hours), 2nd shift, and weekend shift. • Organize and assign work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, labor-hours, and production equipment to obtain the most favorable cost, quality and workmanship consistent with production schedules. • Review work schedules and determine priorities. Assign personnel as necessary to produce the required number and types of products and components. Recommend overtime work as required to meet schedules and company goals. • Maintain and update Value Stream boards. • Oversee and train on 5S lean manufacturing efforts. • Ensure Downtime/OEE system is maintained and updated. • Work closely with Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and other supervisors to achieve production goals. • Reassign team members to other areas as needed to fill in for vacations, absences or rush orders. • Check on work in progress to ensure the meeting of quality standards; Assist with the resolution of CARs and NCMRs, as necessary. • Coach, train, motivate and mentor subordinates. Participate in new employee selection and hiring. Assist with performance assessments for the hourly team members. • Recommend employees for further training to improve the employee’s skill level in accordance with company expectations. • Maintain an orderly and safe work environment. • Conduct accident investigations and complete accident reports as required. • Support overall ISO procedures and QMS. • Suggest improvements or alternative methods and materials to reduce costs and/or improve quality. Additionally, the Manufacturing Supervisor is a key team member driving continuous improvement, including: • Understand cell, value stream, and plant metrics. Able to identify gaps between current state and targets and implement corrective actions using problem-solving tools. • Assist in leading the CI process. • Understand, utilize, and maintain value stream boards to communicate the state of the business daily. • Actively participate in the improvement process including “just-do-it” and Kaizen events. • Maintains a positive attitude to influence process improvement activities throughout the organization. What You’ll Bring • 3+ years’ production supervisory experience, preferably in a fast-paced, precision component manufacturing and machining environment. • Practical knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and Lean Concepts. • Ability to solve complex problems utilizing the tools appropriate to the task. • Experience training machinists on technical and lean aspects. • Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints. • Ability to manage and resolve interpersonal conflict. • Strong computer skills, to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Safey and quality driven. • Great interpersonal and leadership skills. ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. • Compression molding experience is a plus. • Lean Manufacturing training and/or certifications a plus.
