Cloud Data Specialist (On-Site in Boston, 5 Days/Week) We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Solutions Specialist to design, implement, and manage cloud-based data architecture and solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires a strong technical background in building scalable, secure, and efficient data systems. • please note that our client is unable to offer sponsorship of any kind for this role. Candidates must currently be local to the Greater Boston area and able to be on site 5 days a week to be considered* Key Responsibilities: • Data Architecture: Design and maintain scalable Azure-based data architectures that support enterprise-level data processing and analytics needs. • Data Engineering: Develop robust data pipelines and streaming solutions to support real-time and batch data processing. • Integration & ETL: Build and manage data integration workflows using ETL tools to consolidate data from multiple sources into centralized platforms. • Storage Solutions: Implement and manage data lakes, relational databases, and other storage solutions within the Azure ecosystem. • Advanced Data Processing: Leverage tools such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and advanced analytics platforms—including OpenAI integrations—to process large-scale datasets. • Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions. • Security & Compliance: Apply data governance principles and ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational security standards. • Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance and optimize architecture for speed, cost-efficiency, and reliability. • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on Azure technologies and best practices to enhance existing solutions. • Technical Guidance: Provide mentorship and enforce best practices within the data engineering and analytics teams. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline—or equivalent professional experience. • 3–5 years of experience designing and developing data solutions on Microsoft Azure. • Proficiency with Azure services including Azure SQL Database, Fabric, Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory. • Strong command of SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools within the Azure ecosystem. • Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred Skills: • Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). • Exposure to AI/ML platforms and advanced analytics tools. • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and DevOps methodologies. • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect). • Familiarity with regulated environments such as finance, legal, or healthcare (a plus).
