Learn more at: https://www.armor.com Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Networking Engineer to design, implement, and manage networking solutions in virtualized and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware NSX-T, F5 Load Balancers, Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN (L2L), BGP Routing, Virtual Cloud Director (vCD), vSphere, and various VMware products, along with strong experience in AWS, Oracle OCI, and Azure networking. Experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence once a week on Wednesdays. The position is based in either Plano, TX or New York City (NYC). Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Additional duties may be assigned as required.) • Design, deploy, and manage VMware NSX-T network virtualization solutions, including micro-segmentation, distributed firewall, and network automation. • Configure and optimize F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) to ensure high availability, redundancy, and security. • Implement and manage Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN (L2L) solutions for secure connectivity between data centers and cloud environments. • Configure and maintain BGP routing for dynamic network communication and optimized traffic flows across multi-site deployments. • Manage and optimize VMware vCloud Director (vCD) for multi-tenant cloud environments, including resource provisioning and networking. • Administer VMware vSphere, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security for virtualized workloads. • Work with various VMware products (vRealize, vSAN, Horizon, etc.) to enhance and integrate virtualization solutions. • Design and implement networking solutions in AWS, Oracle OCI, and Azure, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, route tables, VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/FastConnect, and load balancing. • Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity solutions between on-premise VMware environments and cloud providers. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and virtualization issues across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments. • Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance policies and improve network security posture. • Work with DevOps and automation teams to integrate infrastructure as code (IaC) for networking configurations. • Document network architectures, configurations, and operational procedures. • Provide Level 2/3 support for networking incidents, escalations, and performance tuning. REQUIRED SKILLS • 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on VMware networking and virtualization. • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates. • Hands-on expertise with VMware NSX-T, including micro-segmentation, edge nodes, and service-defined firewalling. • Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) for traffic management and security. • In-depth knowledge of BGP routing, VPN (L2L), and network segmentation strategies. • Experience managing VMware vCloud Director (vCD) for multi-tenant environments. • Proficiency in VMware vSphere administration and optimization. • Expertise in AWS, Oracle OCI, and Azure networking, including VPCs, virtual networking, cloud security, and hybrid connectivity. • Familiarity with network automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerCLI. • Experience with public cloud networking (GCP is a plus but not required). • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-availability environments. • Excellent documentation and communication skills. Nice to Have: • Experience with Software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technologies. • Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) networking and service mesh (Istio, Calico, Cilium, etc.). • Familiarity with Zero Trust Security models in network architecture. • Understanding of containerized networking (Docker, Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu). • Exposure to multi-cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP. • Experience with Network Observability and Monitoring tools (ThousandEyes, vRealize Network Insight, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). • Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation. • Understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies for networking. • Experience with firewall platforms like Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.
