Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Architect for a one-year contract position, fully remote, supporting the State of North Carolina. This role is ideal for individuals with a deep expertise in Azure Cloud and NetAPP who are motivated to contribute to critical infrastructure projects that enhance the Department of Environment Quality (DEQ). Key Responsibilities • Assist the Infrastructure Section with a variety of projects and project-related configurations. • Collaborate closely with the Department of Information and Technology and Microsoft Azure Support Teams to design and implement key components, including groups, virtual machines, databases, firewall rules, and VPN tunnels for the Permit Transformation Project. • Establish and manage customer-owned environments, create images, and set up Virtual Network (VNet) and VPN gateways. • Develop Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) machines based on custom images and implement Intune for effective management of VDI resources across varying operational zones. • Document the DevOps environment and ensure appropriate rights are set up. • Engage in knowledge sharing and provide training to team members during periods of lower activity. Required Skills • Proven expertise in Azure Cloud architecture and NetAPP • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic CRM is advantageous • Strong understanding of VNet groups and MDM Management • Experience in creating images and managing VDI machines • Proficiency in setting up Intune for VDI management • Excellent documentation and communication abilities Qualifications • Demonstrable experience in Azure Cloud architecture and infrastructure support • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams • A relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred Career Growth Opportunities Joining our team means engaging with significant projects that not only impact the environment but also provide avenues for professional growth and development in the increasingly vital field of cloud technologies.
