Base pay range $70.00/hr - $80.00/hr Location: Remote (Need to be local to San Antonio, TX for occasional onsite meetings on a regular basis) Duration: 9+ months Compensation: $80.00 per hour We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer III to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that architects, implements, and deploys AWS cloud-based solutions. Specifically, we are looking for an engineer to work in the government space and on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The successful candidate will be required to obtain security clearance (application to be paid for) and must reside in the United States. Overview & Responsibilities As an AWS/Azure DevOps Engineer III, you will: • Collaborate with a Talented Team: Work closely with Engineers, Relationship Managers, and the Product Team to deliver innovative solutions for enterprise customers. • Automate Deployments: Utilize custom templates and modules to automate deployments for customer environments on AWS/Azure. • Architect Best Practices: Design and implement AWS/Azure environment best practices and deployment methodologies. • Create Automation Tools: Develop automation tools and processes to streamline team and daily operations. • Educate Customers & Teammates: Advise customers on AWS best practices, architecture, and deployment. Assist in educational briefings to advance teammates' technical skills. • Provide Fanatical Support: Deliver exceptional customer support by creating reliable, repeatable, and automated cloud solutions. Key Qualifications • Experience: 3+ years as a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS/Azure cloud solutions. • Expertise in AWS/Azure Products & Services: In-depth knowledge of AWS/Azure services including Caching, EBS, Scaling, Load Balancing, Networking, and more. • Operating System Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems, including support and troubleshooting of issues and performance. • Networking Skills: Strong understanding of networking concepts such as VLANs, layer 2/3 routing, access lists, and load balancing. • Cloud Application Design: Near-expert understanding of native Cloud application design, design patterns, and best practices. • IaC Expertise: Highly skilled in Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices. • Kubernetes and Database Knowledge: Experience with Kubernetes is a plus, as well as familiarity with Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL). • Backup & Recovery Knowledge: Experience with backup and recovery methodologies and implementations. • Agile & DevOps Best Practices: Strong background in application development using Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines across multiple concurrent projects. • AWS Certification: Must be AWS Certified (minimum 3 certifications).
