Our team is dedicated to two primary areas: Data Management and Availability: We are responsible for the intake, management, and seamless availability of merchandised vehicle data across all of Carvana.com. This ensures that our extensive inventory is accurately represented and easily accessible to our users. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to collaborate with other talented professionals to develop and optimize systems that impact millions of users. You will be at the forefront of transforming digital automotive retail by building scalable solutions that enhance both data management processes and user engagement strategies. What you'll be doing API and Service Development: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services using primarily .NET Core/C#. You will work on creating scalable and efficient services that power key features across Carvana's platform, ensuring seamless integration with our existing architecture. A strong understanding of SOLID principles is essential to develop maintainable and robust code. Event-Driven Architecture: Implement and manage event-driven services using Kafka and Service Bus, enabling real-time data processing and communication across various systems. Search Platform Optimization: Collaborate with team members to enhance our Search platform built on Elasticsearch, focusing on improving performance, relevance, and user experience. Data Management: Work with SQL databases, Cosmos DB, Elasticsearch, and Redis caching to ensure data is efficiently stored, retrieved, and cached, supporting our dynamic application needs. Testing and Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and performance of the applications. You will be responsible for implementing testing best practices to catch issues early in the development process and maintain high-quality code standards. Deployment and Environment Management: Deploy applications in a Kubernetes environment and leverage Microsoft Azure cloud services to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize tools like Datadog and Splunk to monitor application performance, identify issues proactively, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. AI Integration Exploration: Explore and identify opportunities to integrate various AI tools into your workflow or projects. Innovate and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance system capabilities, improve user experience, and drive efficiency across the platform. What you should have Minimum 5+ years of software development, particularly in building and maintaining APIs and services.
