Overview GovCIO is in search of a skilled and proactive Power BI Developer and Fabric Administrator to oversee and enhance our enterprise-wide Power BI environment. This role centers on the administration of Power BI Service and Fabric, user support at varying levels, and comprehensive report lifecycle management. You'll need strong technical expertise in Power BI combined with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across our Center of Excellence (COE), business units, and IT support. Responsibilities • Act as a Power BI Fabric Administrator, managing workspace organization, deployment pipelines, user permissions, and system performance. • Establish and operate a Power BI Center of Excellence (COE) to implement standards, best practices, and governance for the use of Power BI across the enterprise. • Deliver training sessions on Power BI (including creating and leading instructor-led classes). • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for various Power BI issues, including report access, dataset challenges, and workspace configurations. • Help develop and manage Self-Help resources, such as FAQs, templates, and training materials to empower end users. • Oversee Power BI licensing and desktop software distribution, collaborating with IT assets and licensing teams to monitor usage and entitlements. • Facilitate integration with existing data sources and support the onboarding process for new data sources, ensuring data quality and secure access. • Triage incoming Power BI reporting and workspace requests, ensuring prompt prioritization and resolution. • Design, publish, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements and enhance usability. • Generate and sustain thorough technical documentation, including data dictionaries and architecture diagrams. • Engage in proactive assessments of system health and performance tuning of Power BI Service and gateway configurations. Qualifications • Required Skills and Experience • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent expertise. • Extensive experience in Power BI Service Administration, Fabric workspace management, and deployment processes. • Familiarity with Power BI governance and organizational policies. • Experience in Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including Service Desk and user enablement. • Knowledge of Power BI licensing models and integration with Microsoft 365 tools. • Preferred Skills and Experience • Comprehensive understanding of data connectivity, gateway setup, and refresh scheduling.
