Job Type: Full-Time / CONTRACT / C2C Position Summary We are seeking a seasoned Microsoft Security Platform Architect to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of a modern Microsoft 365 Security ecosystem. This strategic and hands-on role is based in Columbus, Ohio, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) to ensure close collaboration with security, IT, and compliance stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a proven ability to transform decentralized security architectures into a unified Microsoft Defender solution aligned with Zero Trust principles. Key Responsibilities • Architect and deploy Microsoft security solutions including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, and associated compliance tools. • Lead migration from legacy/non-Defender platforms to a consolidated Microsoft 365 security architecture. • Establish governance, configuration baselines, and operational best practices tailored to cloud-first and hybrid environments. • Align security architecture with NIST, Zero Trust, and Microsoft Secure Score frameworks. • Define threat detection and incident response strategies using Microsoft Sentinel, DLP, and XDR integrations. • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure stakeholder alignment and successful enterprise adoption. • Conduct capability maturity assessments and recommend iterative improvements. • Mentor internal teams and provide knowledge transfer on Microsoft security tooling. Required Qualifications • , and Microsoft Purview. • Proven success migrating from third-party or ad-hoc security tools to Microsoft 365 Defender in enterprise or government settings. • Hands-on expertise in Zero Trust architecture, identity protection, and cloud security posture management (CSPM). • Strong understanding of compliance, governance, and risk management frameworks. • Certifications preferred: SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, MS-500.*Preferred Skills* • Strategic thinker with excellent documentation and communication skills. • Able to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Passion for continuous improvement, automation, and staying ahead of the threat landscape.
