Systems Administrator I FORTUNE seeks an experienced Systems Administrator with a passion for “getting it done.” Our small IT Infrastructure and Support team assists our business partners across the US, Europe, and Asia as they produce newsletters, websites, the FORTUNE magazine, videos, and FORTUNE conferences. Key Responsibilities include: Support Escalation: Handle Tier 2 and Tier 3 support requests escalated by the support team and assist with helpdesk tasks as needed. Procurement: Assist with the procurement of IT hardware and services, including evaluations, bake-offs, and due diligence. Automation: Create and maintain workflow automations for common IT tasks. Onboarding: Provision account access and help bring new employees up to speed on technical systems. Vendor Management: Assess and select vendors for IT security and services. Meraki Networking: Apply and troubleshoot basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, VPN, wireless). Security: Remediate and assess impact of detected incidents with assistance from MDR vendor. Crisis Management: Provide triage guidance during outages or crises, including outside of US business hours Project Management: Assist with project coordination and documentation for IT initiatives. Vendor & Industry Awareness:Keep abreast of vendor planned maintenance notices and monitor industry trends in end-user computing, and cloud infrastructure. Application Administration: Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for several infrastructure and messaging applications, including: Office 365 (primarily Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint) Azure Active Directory (groups, MFA, Intune MDM, security policies) PowerShell scripting and Power Automate flows Proofpoint Email security / phishing/spam investigations JAMF/Intune Administration Zendesk Administration Zoom Phone & Zoom Meetings Administration Proactive Problem Solving: Observe patterns in Helpdesk support calls and proactively propose solutions or revisions to procedures. You are: Personable: You will deal with everyone from interns to the CEO. You'll need to understand their needs and communicate technical concepts to non-technical people with grace, understanding, and patience. Experienced: You will have five or more years’ experience providing IT support in a small/medium-sized organization. Dependable: Your work ethic is dependable. Your troubleshooting & diagnostics skills are solid. Your collegiality is admirable. Self motivated: You are confident in your skills, You are confident in your skills and can perform with minimal supervision. Learner: You have a thirst to learn new things, a natural curiosity and a logical approach to problem solving. Mentor: Share your knowledge with Tier-1 support staff. Provide “best practice” and “lunch and learn” sessions to non-technical business partners. The position is based in our New York City office, is not remote, and reports to the Associate Director of IT. Salary Range: $85,000 – 95,000. This range is a good faith estimate and may ultimately vary based on a number of relevant factors.
