DevOps and Infrastructure Engineering Lead 💰 Salary: $165,000 - 210,000 per year At InCommodities US we are looking for a DevOps engineer! 🛠️ Our tech stack: Azure, Bash, CI/CD, Cloud, Datadog, DevOps, Docker, GitHub, Grafana, Support, Kafka, Kubernetes, PaaS, PowerShell, Prometheus, Python, SQL, Security, Terraform, Office 365 📝 Rquirements: - A minimum of 8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering with hands-on application throughout your career. - A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline. - Expertise in building and operating production Azure environments at scale. - Extensive operational experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, upgrades, networking, and troubleshooting. - Proven experience with Azure services including AKS, Azure SQL, VNets, Entra ID, and cost optimization. - Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code methodologies. - Skills in CI/CD pipeline architecture and troubleshooting, specifically using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. - Experience with SQL Server operations in Azure, focusing on performance tuning, backup/restore, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR). - Proficiency in using monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or Datadog. - Strong scripting and automation skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to reduce operational toil. - Continues to code infrastructure daily and is adept at debugging Terraform, fixing pipelines, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters. - Has been a key figure in resolving critical production issues rather than solely serving as an escalation point. - Demonstrated success in leading data center to cloud migration or managing hybrid infrastructure transitions. 👩💻👨💻 Your responsibilities are: - Assemble and manage the US platform engineering team. - Supervise the hiring process by sourcing candidates, conducting technical interviews, making hiring choices, and extending offers. - Establish team priorities, resource allocation, and delivery schedules in line with decoupling milestones. - Offer performance management, career development, and technical guidance to team members. - Cultivate a team culture focused on autonomy, automation, ownership, and excellence in operations. - Develop and implement the strategy and execution for US infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, Azure architecture, and platform tools. - Oversee the transition from EU data center-hosted Kubernetes to US-managed Azure infrastructure (AKS, SQL PaaS, networking). - Create independent CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational practices detached from EU systems. - Design and execute Azure landing zone architecture covering networking, identity management, cost control, and security. - Manage SQL Server operations in Azure, focusing on performance, availability, backup/restore, and cost efficiency. - Make decisions regarding platform tools (monitoring, logging, secrets management, deployment tools) and vendor selections, ensuring compliance with budget. - Continue writing infrastructure code daily to set standards and facilitate critical work. - Provide direct technical support during incidents or when the team faces obstacles, acting as the go-to point for resolving complex issues. - Prototype and assess new infrastructure strategies before delegating tasks to the team. - Implement SRE practices, including runbooks, on-call rotations, incident reviews, and MTTR tracking. - Develop monitoring and alerting systems for production environments that align with business needs and trading hours. - Enhance the developer platform experience through faster local development, efficient CI/CD processes, and clear deployment methodologies. - Manage infrastructure expenses and make optimization decisions accordingly.
