Senior AI/Cloud Architect (.NET + Azure) Location: Hybrid (Harrisburg, PA – Onsite 2 Days/Month) Pay Range: $60–$68/hr, Depending on Experience Must be a Pennsylvania resident to apply. This role requires in-state residency and availability to work onsite in Harrisburg, PA at least two days per month, plus occasional additional visits as needed. Abel Personnel is actively recruiting on behalf of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania agency for a Senior AI/Cloud Architect. This long-term contract role supports the Department of Human Services (DHS) and focuses on advanced cloud engineering, DevOps, and AI tool development within the Microsoft stack. The ideal candidate will be a Pennsylvania resident with expertise in .NET, Azure, PowerShell, and experience working with AI/ML tools such as GitHub Copilot, RAG, and cloud-native services. This position is primarily remote but requires the ability to be onsite in Harrisburg, PA at least two days per month (with occasional additional days as requested). Responsibilities: • Design and develop cloud-native tools leveraging AI/ML technologies, including GitHub Copilot, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent agents • Architect and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using Azure DevOps, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Functions • Write, test, and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell • Develop and maintain secure, scalable .NET/C# applications • Collaborate with internal and government stakeholders to ensure project delivery and alignment with technical standards • Provide system documentation, testing, and support throughout the software development lifecycle Required Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with .NET and C# • Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Azure, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Function Apps • Minimum 2 years of experience writing PowerShell scripts • Experience with AI tools and technologies including GitHub Copilot, RAG, or AI agents • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote team environment • Must be a U.S. Citizen and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Must be a resident of Pennsylvania and available to work onsite in Harrisburg, PA two days per month, plus as needed Preferred Experience: • Test automation tools such as Playwright or MCP • Azure Event Hubs or Kafka for cloud messaging • Database modeling and design experience in enterprise environments Apply now if you meet the above qualifications and are looking for a long-term, impactful role using modern tools in a secure, government-backed environment.
