Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a talented Application & Data Engineer on behalf of our client, a dynamic marketing services based in Hillsboro, Oregon! You’ll be a key contributor to a collaborative and growing technology team, this role supports essential business applications and drives innovation through automation, data engineering, and reporting! This is a full-time contract-to-hire opportunity for immediate hire. The role works primarily remotely, with on-site presence required only 1–2 times per month in Hillsboro. Perks: • Make your mark within a forward-thinking, growth-oriented organization! • Supportive leadership that values innovation. • Remote first, onsite 1-2x a month • Salary range between $110-125k What you will be doing: • Supporting, enhancing, and optimizing custom-built and third-party business applications. • Designing and maintaining powerful data reporting pipelines using Power BI, SQL, DAX, and Power Query. • Writing scripts and lightweight tools for automation using Python and PowerShell. • Supporting development and maintenance of internal tools built in .NET environments. • Managing, deploying, and troubleshooting systems within Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure PaaS environments. • Collaborating closely with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions. • Participating in agile project development and DevOps workflows using Azure DevOps. • Contributing to the organization’s broader digital transformation by improving data integration and system efficiency. What you will need: • 2+ years of experience in roles involving IT systems, application engineering, or process automation. • Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, SQL, and .NET (C# or VB.NET). • Experience working with Microsoft Azure PaaS services, Windows Server, and Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and cloud-based). • Solid hands-on experience with Power BI development, including dashboards, dataflows, and metrics reporting. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage workloads independently. • Excellent communication skills and a user-centric approach to technical solutions. • Familiarity with ERP or logistics/manufacturing systems, including SAP B1 is a plus • Experience working in environments undergoing legacy system transitions a plus • Understanding of architectural patterns like strangler fig migration is a plus Interested?
