About the role We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. You will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure and will be responsible for the design, automation, optimization, and operation of our Azure Local deployments on bare metal infrastructure. This is a critical role where you will leverage your deep technical expertise in Azure, particularly Azure Arc, and bare metal provisioning to build and manage resilient, secure, and scalable hybrid environments across diverse edge locations. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our distributed computing platform. Location. This role is office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Architect, design, deploy, and manage highly available Azure Local environments on bare metal servers across our edge data centers Lead the automation of Azure Local deployment and configuration, including network, storage, and security setup Utilize Azure Arc to centrally manage and monitor distributed Azure Local instances, ensuring consistent governance and security Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates for repeatable and scalable deployments Collaborate with our engineering teams to integrate Azure Local with our existing platforms and tooling Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Azure Local, bare metal infrastructure, and networking Secure Azure Local deployments using best practices and technologies such as Azure Policy, Azure Key Vault, and network security groups Mentor and guide other team members on Azure best practices and technologies Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Arc, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Monitor, and Azure Policy Hands-on experience with deploying and managing infrastructure on bare metal servers Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) and software-defined networking (SDN) Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure Stack HCI (now part of Azure Local) Experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps, such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), particularly on Azure Stack HCI/Azure Local Familiarity with storage solutions for bare metal and virtualized environments Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Stack HCI Specialist Experience managing infrastructure in edge computing or resource-constrained environments Compensation For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the starting base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed below, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications.
