We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our team and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure, with a focus on ensuring compliance with NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation with Ansible, scripting, performance tuning, security configurations, and overall Linux system management. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, system optimization, security hardening, and adherence to regulatory frameworks.Essential Functions:Design, implement, and manage Linux infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and automation scripts to streamline system provisioning, configuration management, and deployments.Optimize system performance by conducting tuning and capacity planning for Linux servers to ensure availability and reliability.Implement security best practices, including system hardening, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance enforcement.Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, and SSH key management.Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure system stability and reliability.Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.Perform patch management and system updates to ensure security and adherence to industry standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure improvements.Characteristics and Qualifications:Required:Bachelor's Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experienceAbility to produce high-quality work products with attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively in a team environmentExperience in quantitative and qualitative analysisExperience using verbal and written communications skillsAbility to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)Experience with Security related issues as they apply to the Linux environmentPreferred:MBA degree in Business AdministrationExperience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functionsExperience supporting any of PJM Committees
