Job Title: Microsoft 365 Engineering Consultant Type: Contract (6–12 months; potential for extension or right-to-hire, but not guaranteed) Location: Dallas, TX preferred – Hybrid (Currently 4 days/week onsite, may shift to 5) Position Overview: Our client is seeking a seasoned Cloud Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, and Microsoft cloud security/administration to support a transition phase as internal teams scale their cloud capabilities. This role requires a hands-on professional who can act as both an architect and subject matter expert, ensuring a secure and compliant Microsoft cloud environment aligned with industry standards. Responsibilities: Assessment & Advisory • Evaluate the current Microsoft 365 ecosystem: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD (Entra ID) • Analyze configurations, policies, and security postures for compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GLBA, SEC, FINRA) • Identify vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities; deliver actionable reports and strategic recommendations Implementation & Configuration • Configure and fine-tune M365 services and features based on findings and business needs • Implement Conditional Access, MFA, DLP, compliance, and identity governance policies • Support hybrid identity and directory sync scenarios (Azure AD Connect) • Leverage PowerShell and admin tools to automate workflows and enforce controls Ongoing Support & Knowledge Transfer • Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation for Microsoft 365-related incidents • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across M365 and Azure platforms • Assist in user adoption and IT team enablement through documentation and training • Support audit preparation and compliance reporting efforts Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 engineering and support • Expertise in Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) • Strong knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, and cloud architecture • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and migration strategies • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation • Excellent communication skills and a consultative approach • At least 2 years of financial industry or other regulated sector experience strongly preferred • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert) are a plus
