The Business Intelligence Developer is a key contributor to True Homes’ data-driven decision-making strategy. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining intuitive, high-impact data visualizations and analytics solutions primarily using Power BI and the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The BI Developer will partner with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineers to translate business needs into scalable, cloud-native BI solutions aligned with enterprise standards and strategic objectives. Responsibilities • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable insights using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric • Design and maintain semantic models, dataflows, and Power BI datasets within Microsoft Fabric • Build robust, intuitive dashboards, paginated reports, and self-service analytics tools for internal business units • Integrate data from multiple sources (on-prem and cloud) and ensure data models are optimized for performance and usability • Partner with Data Architects and Engineers to define and evolve cloud-first data architecture within Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Delta Lake, and OneLake • Support and contribute to governance and security models, including data access, row-level security (RLS), and usage monitoring • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and stakeholder walkthroughs to validate report functionality and ensure alignment with business needs • Provide Power BI and self-service training, documentation, and mentorship to analysts and end-users • Troubleshoot production issues and manage report lifecycle in collaboration with IT support and DevOps • Stay current with emerging technologies in the Microsoft Data Platform and proactively recommend improvements • Communicate progress and key metrics to the Operations Partner of Enterprise Technology or assigned executive sponsor • Performs other duties as needed or required Results/Accountability • Consistently delivers accurate, timely, and high-performance BI solutions aligned with project and business timelines • Builds trust and credibility with stakeholders through integrity, reliability, and transparency • Encourages data-driven culture through collaboration, training, and evangelism of BI best practices • Demonstrates ownership and follow-through, resolving issues proactively and independently • Drives innovation by embracing new tools within Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI • Promotes consistency in design patterns, naming conventions, and data practices across BI assets • Maintains compliance with internal data policies, quality standards, and security protocols • Delivers Power BI solutions on time that meet business objectives • Communicates effectively by developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences • Drives engagement by creating a climate where people are motivated to their best to help the organization achieve its objectives • Drives results by consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances • Ensures decision quality by making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward • Plans and aligns by planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals • Ensures accountability by holding self and others accountable to meet commitments • Manages conflict by handling conflict effectively, with a minimum of noise • Exemplifies organizational savvy by maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics • Focuses on action by taking on new opportunities/tough challenges with a sense of urgency, energy/enthusiasm Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience • Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX, M, Power Query, and deployment pipelines • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, or Synapse Dedicated Pools • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Notebooks, and Lakehouses • Understanding of cloud data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and semantic modeling • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control (Git) for BI assets is a plus • Experience with Power BI capacities, performance tuning, and large dataset management is a plus General Requirements • Exceptional attention to detail • Strong communication skills, written, and verbal skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly insights • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities • Complies with all company policies and procedures • Demonstrates the qualities and character traits as defined in the True Difference Physical Requirements • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time • Associate needs to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment
