We’re looking for a creative, talented Associate Software Developer to join our fast-growing Software Development group. Working on an Agile development team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting our market-leading suite of purpose-built software for specialty manufacturers and distributors. Responsibilities: • Operate in an agile development team and participate in the design, development, testing, and debugging of applications. • Collaborate with senior developers to implement new features and functionality • Develop clean, elegant, and reusable code that is easy to maintain and extend. • Participate in code reviews to improve coding skills and knowledge • Interacts with application support to resolve technical issues and provide guidance • Support testing and quality assurance processes • Learn our tech stack through hands-on, guided tasks • Works collaboratively with internal teams Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: • Discipline and Perseverance – Focus and commitment to solving complex issues through to completion. • Flexibility and Hard Work – Operate in a fast-paced, iterative development environment; learn and adapt to new technologies. • Problem-Solving – Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. • Quality – Dedicated to producing high-quality software and implementing development best practices. • Teamwork – Communicate effectively and operate in a team environment. • Effective Communicator - Strong written and oral communication skills. • Excellent time management skills - a proven ability to utilize your sense of urgency to prioritize tasks effectively. • Self-Improvement - actively self-improves through individual learning, coursework, or otherwise Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline. • 0-2 years of commercial software development experience. • Proficient in programming languages, such as C# or Java • Hands-on experience or strong interest in leveraging AI technologies—such as LLMs, machine learning models, or AI-driven developer tools like Windsurf, Github Copilot or Cursor to improve productivity and code quality • Basic knowledge of database concepts and SQL • Understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST, JSON) • Proficient in front end technologies like JavaScript, Angular, React and HTML5 are highly desirable. • Understanding of software development methodologies and design principles • Familiarity with Git and modern application development workflows using systems like Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. • Understanding of testing methodologies and TDD • Familiarity with cloud concepts (Azure or AWS) • Knowledge of CI/CD Concepts and DevOps principles is a plus. • Willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and languages Location: Tampa, FL In office requirement: 3 days a week While we offer flexibility, this role includes an expectation of being onsite three days a week in our Tampa office to support team alignment and cross-functional collaboration. #LI-Hybrid Why Advantive? • Culture of Growth: We don’t hire to fill seats—we hire to develop talent.
