Description At Moser, our database administrators (DBAs) are responsible for developing and maintaining databases, ensuring data security, tuning performance, backing up data, and providing training and support to users. DBAs often work with developers to design and implement new features and troubleshoot any issues. A DBA must have a strong understanding of both technical and business needs. Role Responsibilities This role is crucial in maintaining, securing, and operating databases and ensures that data is correctly stored and retrieved. Key responsibilities include: • Database software maintenance • Database security • Documentation • Database backup • Performance monitoring DATABASE ADMINISTRATORS play a key role in the data lifecycle, ensuring that data is not only stored but also available, recoverable, and ready for business. Requirements An " bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer information systems, computer science, data management, information systems, or information science, or a related field." Work experience and professional certifications may also be taken into consideration pertaining to bachelor's degree requirement. SQL Server database administration (DBA) fundamentals Proficient in writing SQL, experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries Strong communication and soft skills are critical to success in consulting services Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate, and lead when necessary Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines Knowledge of code migration, database change management, and data management through the various stages of the SDLC Desire to be a continual learner while increasing your consulting, communication, technological, and soft skills Preferred Skills Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL, or MongoDB database administration (DBA) Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.
