Job Title: DevOps Engineer - Azure Containerization Specialist Location: Remote Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent What You'll Be Doing As a DevOps Engineer specializing in containerization, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing containerization solutions on Azure. You'll work closely with our software development and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to ensure our applications are scalable, secure, and deployed efficiently. Key responsibilities include: • Designing, implementing, and managing containerization solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container Apps (ACA). • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub to streamline development and deployment. • Collaborating with the software development team to containerize existing applications and deploy them on Azure. • Automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized workloads on Azure to optimize performance. • Following security best practices to ensure containerized workloads are secure. • Partnering with SRE to advance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) disciplines. • Staying current with industry trends and technologies in containerization and DevOps. • Documenting processes and configurations meticulously to support continuous improvement. • Mentoring team members in microservices architecture and container orchestration best practices. What You'll Need to Be Successful • Experience: • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure and 5+ years of experience in cloud-native DevOps. • Proven expertise in container orchestration platforms, specifically Kubernetes and Docker. • Demonstrated experience in CI/CD pipeline management, ideally integrated with Git strategies (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, GitLab CI/CD, BitBucket Pipelines). • Technical Skills: • Strong understanding of deployment methodologies for Kubernetes (preferably ArgoCD and Helm). • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages, with a preference for PowerShell or Python. • Expertise in automation tools, such as Ansible and Terraform, to streamline tasks. • Experience with other Azure services, including Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Service Fabric. • Mindset: • A DevOps/SRE mindset focused on problem-solving, automation, and continuous improvement. • A proactive approach to identifying manual tasks and automating them for enhanced efficiency. • Communication: • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high transparency in your work. • Methodology: • Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrumban) for managing project work.
