Jr/Mid level Security Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

Unison Systems is seeking a mid level Security Engineer for a contract to hire role for our international travel client. Location: DTC, Remote - preferred CO / MST zone Duration: 6 months + with option to hire Responsible to help manage, monitor, and maintain security controls across various domains to ensure robust organizational cybersecurity. • Beginner to intermediate level engineer • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or 4 years of any combination of education, training and experience. • Regular hours 8am 5pm MST, with occasional global meetings (early or late in day) • Remote / hybrid Denver preferred • Key Responsibilities • Manage and monitor security controls in domains. Okay if strong in one domain, but nice to have familiarity across other domains such as: • Access Control (e.g., Passwords, MFA) • Endpoint Security (e.g., secure workstations and servers) • Common Security Technologies (e.g., Anti-Virus, MDR) • Conduct security monitoring, testing, and vulnerability assessments • Administer and support security awareness training (e.g., KnowBe4) • Operate, maintain, and improve security tools and processes, including detection and response systems (MDR), and conducting ongoing security monitoring and operations • Take ownership of one or more security domains within the first 90 days • Contribute to maturing the organizations security posture Skills: • The role requires a collaborative team player who can effectively implement and support technical processes while assisting peers. • Strong peer-level communication and solid writing skills are essential for documenting and sharing knowledge. • Understanding of vulnerability testing • MDR (Manage, Detection, Response) • Microsoft Defender • Experience with Public Cloud Platforms • Interested in developing their skills through certifications or other forms of education What They Will Enjoy • Seeing the tangible results of their work as security processes mature • Playing a key role in reducing organizational risk Challenge • Working in an environment where risk can be reduced but never fully eliminated Unison Systems Inc. is a full-service IT consulting firm that offers staffing, consulting, direct-hire recruiting and solutions delivery services.
