Berkshire Hathaway Energy is hiring! I have two openings on my team, looking for highly capable Windows Server engineers - both on premise and Microsoft Entra-located assets. Apply here: https://careers.pacificorp.com/job-invite/113515/ Responsibilities Operating system lifecycle management and cybersecurity risk assessment and remediation of approximately 6,000 Windows servers in a large enterprise, geographically dispersed infrastructure. Qualifications • Comprehensive knowledge and technical background with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy. • Experience managing on premise and Microsoft Entra tenant-located Windows Server assets. • Experience leveraging a configuration management solution to automate the managing of Windows Servers in a large enterprise environment. • Strong PowerShell scripting skills to automate system administration tasks efficiently. • Familiarity with Microsoft monthly patching procedures and best practices in maintaining a secure, updated infrastructure. • BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) configuration management tool experience is preferred, but ANY configuration management experience is beneficial. • Virtualization technologies: Proven experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Entra for efficient management of resources, deployment, and configuration of virtual machines in large-scale enterprise environments. • Networking and Windows server management: Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) as they relate to Windows Server environments. Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues, including domain-related problems, DNS configurations, and server-client communication within a Windows Server infrastructure. • Analytical and troubleshooting skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Proven experience in troubleshooting network, server, and application problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance in a Windows Server environment.
