SUMMARY: This position is responsible for selling in-home residential windows and door replacements. It involves a seven-step in-home selling process: product demonstrations, project evaluation, measuring, project estimating, closing the sale, following the job through the system, and collecting the payment after the installation. Responsible for managing all practices and procedures designed to increase sales, enhance profitability, and develop delighted customers. The expectation is to generate repeat, referral, and new customers through strategic canvassing and outside-the-box methodologies. The keys to success include effectively managing and resolving customer objections, being a self-starter focused on maximizing uncapped earning potential, and closing sales through value. Principal DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to: • Responsible for all field activity relating to customer relations, product sales, collections, and customer satisfaction for the replacement segment. • Pursues leads, gives product demonstrations at the home and in the Showroom, discusses product options with the customer, and takes on-site measurements. • Responsible for creating self-generated leads through canvassing. • Ensures quotes and orders are accurate and follow company sales processes. • Completes all required paperwork to ensure all necessary information is present, allowing the Project Coordinator and Installer to complete the project efficiently. • Complies with company policies on pricing, product offering, installation, credit, and collections. • Follow up with prospects on time to inform them of business changes, such as product offerings, pricing, or assembly options. • Must be computer literate and use electronic software (Salesforce and MS Office, etc.) to track, quote, sell, and order products. • Follows up with all customers to ensure the project meets or exceeds customer expectations. • Coordinates and communicates with the Project Coordinator to ensure accurate understanding and timely resolution of customer issues. • Participates in various departmental and interdepartmental meetings or training as required. Qualifications We seek individuals with previous canvassing experience, although it is not required. Candidates should possess strong time-management and organizational skills, especially in adapting to changing schedules, and be able to work effectively through the Salesforce CRM. A minimum commitment of 40 hours per week is required, with 20 hours during prime selling time (4-8 pm). Practical communication skills are essential; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role demands the physical ability to work on your feet for extended periods, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Time management skills are crucial for success in this position. Education And/or Experience A High School Diploma and 2-4 years of successful in-home selling experience are preferred. Customer service or general business experience would also apply to this role. Prior knowledge of general construction applications, terminology, and/or windows and doors applications or components is desirable. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft® Office Suite applications and ability to navigate web-based applications. Will be expected to develop proficiency in proprietary software and (CRM)—the ability to compile and decipher information in spreadsheet format. Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written English language skills (Spanish is a plus) and excellent customer service skills are required. Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as processes, policies, emails, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively explain information, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from customers, team members, peers, and managers. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette—the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Professional Skills Must be a collaborator, desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be initiative-taking, self-disciplined, and demonstrate the ability to follow projects through to completion. Diligence is required. Must demonstrate organizational skills, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Must be able to develop the trust and confidence of customers, coworkers, and managers. Must present a clean and neat physical appearance. Must be able to investigate issues and resolve conflicts in the business's and our customers' best interests. Mathematical Skills Ability to subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10s and 100s. Ability to perform calculations using units of money, time, measurement, etc. Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, length, width, height, and depth—the ability to apply introductory algebra, geometry, and general business math concepts. REASONING ABILITY Ability to understand, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete and abstract variables in a variety of situations.
