THE OPPORTUNITY The Financial Data Analyst will analyze and interpret financial and operational data, delivering insights to support strategic decision-making and working closely with different departments and customers to monitor and drive business performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine data needs, data availability, and develop custom reports and dashboards to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement • Build and manage data warehouse by organizing and analyzing a wide range of financial and operational data sources • Analyze revenue and expense trends, evaluating the financial impact of various initiatives, and providing recommendations to optimize profitability • Assist in the development of pricing strategies for new services and opportunities, considering market trends and competitive landscape • Present data to various internal stakeholders and customers, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and actionable insights • Partner with account facing teams and customers to translate customer business needs into data deliverables • Document analysis processes to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions • Analyze and address data quality issues • Identify opportunities for improving data collection, analysis, and reporting processes • Responsible for following all MTA procedures and policies related to security controls for the protection of personal or sensitive data provided to MTA as defined by GDPR and confidential information as defined as any data, documents, materials, in any form or medium, that could reasonably be expected to be proprietary to a client or sponsor including but not limited to, any information concerning or relating to the property, products, technology, business, and affairs of the client or sponsor • Complete all required MTA directed security, policies and procedure training • Perform other duties as requested EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & TRAINING • Bachelor’s degree in finance, analytics, data science, or similar field required • 1-3 years of financial analysis or related experience • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred) • Experience with SQL is a plus • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex functions and pivot tables Skills & Qualifications • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload • Attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders effectively • Self-disciplined • Thrives in a virtual team environment • Ability to work across multiple time zones and relate to diverse cultures
