About the Role Reporting to the Sr. Director of QA and DevSecOps, the Senior DevSecOps Engineer, Team Lead will be a Key contributing member of an agile, DevSecOps team focused on delivering end-to- end automation and security within a Microsoft Azure environment. In this role, they will be a mentor and technical lead for the team as well as hands-on-keyboard to develop and build infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines that align the right amount of security, compliance, performance, and resilience to support the continuous delivery of software at Raptor Technologies. Technical Responsibilities • Lead and be hands-on-keyboard in the process of defining, designing, and implementing the build, deployment, security, and monitoring standards for applications and services which deliver the Raptor Technologies suite of products • Work closely with development teams to build and maintain CI/CD building blocks and automated pipelines for deploying code into staging and production environments • Administer and maintain DevOps tools, processes, and platforms, including version control (e.g., Git), build automation (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), configuration management, and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance with relevant standards and integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. • Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems for production environments, ensuring system availability and quick response to any operational issues. • Establish and monitor DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. • Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards to provide visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics. • Manage the deployment and upkeep of both infrastructure and applications within cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) using infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. • Evaluate application and infrastructure performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers • Other relevant projects, as needed Team Mentorship Responsibilities • Guide and recommend technical approaches, frameworks, and patterns • Create technical development plans (post-prototype) • Work in collaboration with the architect on new designs and technologies • Provide technical mentorship for members of the scrum team based on findings in code reviews • Help translate high-level organizational goals into quarterly team and individual goals for the team • Other daily execution as needed, ensuring cross-dept collaboration & communication Qualifications • Senior level experience (~10 years) in a DevSecOps or Production Engineering position • Served in a mentor or leadership position – either formally or informally • Willing to travel to Houston twice per year • Experience with deployment pipeline technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS Code Pipeline, GitLab,) • Active knowledge of DevOps Automation (Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions) • Strong understanding of security concepts, including threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management. • Familiarity with building infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) • Knowledge of container security principles, such as Docker and Experience with DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (IaC). • Exposed to deploying and working with container hosting platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS AKS, AWS ECS, Azure ACI, Azure AKS, etc.) • Experience leveraging operational tooling platforms to monitor the health of software, services, and systems (e.g., DataDog, New Relic, Prometheus, Dynatrace) • Experience leveraging infrastructure as code tooling to establish standards for deploying infrastructure (e.g., Azure ARM Templates, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform) • Passion for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, services and data deployed through automated deployment pipelines. • Experience working with Developers, DevOps, and Engineering teams in a dynamic environment to promote and implement the DevSecOps program throughout the • Proven track record of building deployment pipelines to facilitate the continuous delivery of software, services, and systems. • Proficiency in Bash, Python or other scripting • Ability to review and analyze security and vulnerability data to identify security risks to the organization's network, infrastructure, and application. • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills • Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline and improve development workflows, leveraging automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and other DevOps practices. • Comprehension in the security areas of Key Management Systems, Certificate Management, Encryption, Penetration Testing, Vulnerability Scanning, Security and Monitoring tools, etc. (Nice to have) What's in it for you?
