The Business Systems Manager is responsible for the performance, integrity, and strategic alignment of AEE’s key technology platforms—including the Association Management System (AMS), Learning Management System (LMS), event platforms, and other tools critical to AEE’s operations and member experience. This role manages system implementation, configuration, data governance, and user support across departments. The ideal candidate brings experience working in associations or nonprofit membership organizations, with strong technical acumen, particularly in Microsoft Power Platform tools. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus. Key Responsibilities Systems Oversight & Optimization • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for AEE’s core business systems (AMS, LMS, event platforms, etc.) • Maintain and improve system performance, data accuracy, user access, and overall functionality • Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders • Ensure platform capabilities are aligned with organizational goals, staff needs, and member-facing services • Document system configurations, workflows, and best practices; develop training resources for internal users • Recommend process changes to drive continuous improvement of AEE's technology • Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for staff and partners Data Management & Reporting • Develop and manage reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making across departments • Audit data for quality, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and data protection regulations • Partner with business units to improve data collection, tracking, and reporting processes • Identify and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with relevant departments Process & Workflow Design • Translate business needs into system configurations, process improvements, and technical solutions • Map out workflows and business rules to improve efficiency and user experience • Implement automation and integrations using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to enhance and expand platform functionality Strategic & Cross-Functional Support • Analyze trends in system usage and organizational performance to recommend improvements • Partner with departments to support technology adoption and alignment with business goals • Engage external developers, consultants, and platform partners for support and implementation • Demonstrate a desire for continuous learning and technology curiosity • Stay current on emerging tools and industry best practices in association technology Qualifications Required: • 3+ years of experience managing business systems in an association or nonprofit setting • Hands-on experience administering an AMS (e.g., member data, events, reporting) • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate • Strong communication and training skills, with an ability to support non-technical users • Experience with data integrity practices and reporting tools Preferred: • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics platforms (Altai, CRM, or Business Central) • Experience with other platforms such as LMS, job boards, or email/event management tools • Background in system integrations or platform transitions • Experience with leveraging AI for operational efficiencies Physical Demands This position is primarily office-based.
