Summary: This position is responsible for various accounting activities related to Corporate assets and obligations, such as, prepaid expenses and insurances, fixed assets, leases and risk management. The scope of work also includes coordinating budgets and forecasts for these financial activities, as well as producing reports (Corporate and Corporate departments) and disclosure data required for KBR’s global operation. This position supervises/leads direct reports to accomplish many of these tasks. This position also provides special support for KBR’s IT operations. Personal traits, such as planning and organization, strong analytic and proficient oral and written communications skills, and a collaborative personality, are required. Technical abilities include experience with Costpoint, Oracle EPM and other ERP software (SAP and Dynamics), Excel / Word / Access proficiency, and a broad understanding of GAAP. The position is a hybrid role and reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Daily employee (3 direct reports) supervision including work assignments, performance reviews, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships. • Lead the implementation and development of new procedures and features to improve the workflow of the organization and provide training for new or existing staff if necessary. Duties/Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee Corporate Balance Sheet and IT Accounting functional areas • Review accruals, reclass and inter-company entries required for Self-Insurance Reserves (i.e., Workers Comp, General Liability and Auto Liability) and Prepaid Insurance • Approval of Corporate journal entries for accruals, various corporate cost allocations. • Support the Global Month End Close Process • Review and analyze financial activities impacting the Corporate Balance Sheet & Cash Flow to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Review of monthly/quarterly reports and analysis to external reporting and internal/external auditors and respond regarding periodic information requests. • Resident subject matter expert on the Corporate Balance Sheet & Cash Flow and any other complex matters that relate to Corporate. • Generate and manage Global IT and IT portfolio financials and various analysis (actual/budget.) • Oversee and provide guidance related to the Global Cash Application process based in Chennai. • Manage and provide guidance related to the Global Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting Process • Lead month end close financial review meetings for Corporate, Global IT and IT portfolios • Drive and lead continuously improving and automating accounting and reporting initiatives. • Review and approve reconciliations and analysis Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviors • Accounting Degree (advanced degree or CPA preferred) • 8+ years of experience in a general accounting environment preferably with a large corporation or auditing a large corporation. • Experience with managing/leading teams (5+years) • Experience with Costpoint, SAP, Hyperion HFM, Microsoft Dynamics, (preferred) • Intermediate Project Management skills. • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively work cross-functionally, and with all levels of management. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong analytic skills and demonstrated ability to plan and organize. • Excellent written and verbal communication • Capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working independently KBR Benefits KBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which could include 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
