This role bridges the gap between internal production and customer-facing teams by supporting sales, verifying application fit, and driving continuous product improvement. You will work closely with sales, customer service, new product development engineering, and manufacturing to ensure our doors meet real-world demands and evolving market needs. Must be able to work in a team based, fast-paced technical environment with a focus on innovation and creativity to meet evolving customer needs for special designs, enhancements, and modifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Application Verification: • Review customer specifications and site conditions to ensure proper product selection and performance. • Analyze non-standard or complex applications and provide technical validation or alternatives. • Design & implement engineer to order (ETO) solutions based on customer specifications. • Sales and Customer Support: • Act as a technical resource for the sales team, distributors, and end users. • Assist with RFQs by providing product recommendations, CAD reviews, and performance data. • Prepare and deliver technical presentations or product training for internal and external stakeholders. • Support service team in diagnosing & designing solutions for field issues on current and legacy products. • Product Improvement & Development: • Analyze field performance data, customer feedback, and production issues to recommend design and/or material changes. • Test and validate enhancements. • Participate in prototype builds, pilot runs, and product rollouts. • Guide product designers to implement desired changes and verify results. • Determine alternative/temporary solutions for part shortages due to procurement issues. • Create, read and modify electrical schematics and ladder diagrams for control logic for ASI products and to interface with non-ASI products. • Documentation & Standards: • Maintain and update technical documentation, application guides, shop floor routes, and installation instructions. • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, certifications, and industry standards. Skills/competencies: • Good internal communication skills and collaborative teamwork approach • Creative thinking and problem solving • Strong technical writing abilities • Knowledge of ERP Systems – item masters, BOM’s, and routings • Skilled in the use of computer aided design software AutoCAD & SolidWorks • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of software • Use of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and other principles to decrease the cost and complexity of manufacturing • Ability to communicate via nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,). • Scientific mindset and methodology with strong application knowledge, up to date with current technologies • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documents. • Ability to create, read and modify electrical schematics and ladder diagrams for control logic for ASI products and to interface with non-ASIproducts.
