Job Title - Azure Infrastructure Engineer Location - Milwaukee, WI or Tucson, AZ Duration - 6+ Months Overall Exp : Minimum 12+ Years Must NOTE : consultant will be travelling other countries as well - As part of their Project - such as Australia, or other Description:- We seek an experienced Azure Local Infrastructure Engineer to support the deployment and operational scaling of standardized Azure Local clusters across global sites. This role is essential to delivering reliable, cloud-native capabilities in connectivity-constrained environments, ensuring security, maintainability, and automation throughout the lifecycle of our hybrid cloud infrastructure. You will join a client s Cloud Center of Excellence and collaborate with global stakeholders across IT, security, and engineering to refine, deploy, and support a scalable Azure Local solution. Key Responsibilities • Audit and refine the current 3-node Azure Local cluster setup. • Develop and maintain installation, deployment, and configuration documentation. • Lead or assist in the deployment of clusters to different sites globally. • Work with internal stakeholders to automate cluster rollout and updates. • Ensure compliance with security frameworks; maintain alignment with internal security standards using Microsoft Defender and Wiz.io. • Support both containerized workloads and traditional VMs. • Collaborate closely with enterprise teams to ensure secure integration with Azure tenants. • Maintain awareness of data locality and minimal internet requirements and plan accordingly. Qualifications Required: • 3+ years of experience in Azure infrastructure, with 2+ years in Azure Arc / Azure Local environments. • Deep understanding of on-premises Azure deployments and hybrid cloud strategies. • Proficiency with Windows Server, networking, and cluster management. • Strong skills in writing clear technical documentation and deployment playbooks. • Familiarity with security hardening, patching, and compliance standards (CIS, NIST). • Hands-on experience with container orchestration, VM configuration, and remote system management. Preferred:- • Experience deploying infrastructure to remote, low-connectivity sites. • Exposure to Defender for Cloud, Wiz.io, and other security tooling. • Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools and scripting. • Recommended Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate, and Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500). Certifications in infrastructure automation (e.g., AZ-400) or cybersecurity architecture (SC-100) are a plus.
