Overview Uplift Hospice is expanding its operational capacity and technology infrastructure to better support patients, families, and staff with secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems. As part of this growth, we are building a robust internal IT support team to manage systems, ensure data security, and maintain uptime across clinical and administrative environments. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Technician / Systems Administrator to join our growing team. This role will lead IT onboarding, endpoint protection, backup solutions, and general IT support functions. You will work closely with leadership to ensure all technology assets are secured, maintained, and aligned with our mission of compassionate care. Responsibilities: Onboarding Support • Remove outdated IT tools or monitoring software from prior providers • Document and inventory all servers, workstations, and laptops • Install antivirus and patch management tools • Configure remote support access for managed devices • Optimize device performance and address unnecessary applications • Review and document current backup, firewall, and password policies • Stabilize networks and assess technology gaps • Set up user accounts, email, and access permissions across systems • Deploy standard images and software configurations for new hires • Ensure compliance with company IT onboarding policies and procedures Employee Offboarding Support • Coordinate with HR and management to receive timely notifications of employee terminations or role changes. • Disable user accounts and access permissions immediately upon termination to prevent unauthorized access. • Revoke access to all systems, including: • Microsoft 365 (email, OneDrive, Teams) • Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR systems) • VPN, remote desktop, and cloud platforms • Mobile device management (MDM) and secure messaging apps • Recover and secure all company-owned devices, including laptops, phones, ID badges, and access cards. • Verify removal from distribution groups and internal communication channels. • Ensure data preservation or handoff of user files and emails to supervisors or replacement staff as appropriate. • Document all deactivation actions for audit and compliance purposes. • Perform access audits regularly to confirm proper offboarding has been completed. • Update asset inventory to reflect recovered or reassigned equipment. • Report security incidents or access violations immediately in case of delay or failure in deactivation. • Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure Protected Health Information (PHI) is not accessed or transferred inappropriately. • Maintain audit trails and logs for all account terminations and device decommissions. • Ensure access to clinical software and patient data systems is revoked with priority. • Coordinate with compliance as needed during sensitive terminations. Ongoing IT Services • Perform 24/7 remote monitoring and management • Administer Microsoft 365 (including licensing, MFA, and SSO) • Manage endpoint detection, anti-malware, encryption, and spam filtering • Implement and monitor backup solutions for workstations, SaaS platforms, and servers • Provide technical support remotely and onsite (within 45-minute travel range) • Follow service level response standards for issues and incidents • Maintain and update documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations • Troubleshoot hardware issues, network outages, and system performance problems • Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacement or software licensing • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC2, or other regulatory requirements where applicable • Manage inventory of IT assets, licenses, and warranties Strategic Engagement • Participate in quarterly IT planning sessions • Recommend technology improvements and cybersecurity best practices • Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies • Contribute to IT policy development and implementation Optional but Preferred Skills: • Security awareness training deployment • Dark web monitoring alert systems • Knowledge of vulnerability scanning or penetration testing Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration • Proficiency in supporting Windows/Mac devices, networking equipment, and Microsoft 365 • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure network design • Familiarity with cloud and local backup/recovery systems • Strong diagnostic, documentation, and organizational skills • Valid driver's license for local site visits Nice to Have: • Experience with Azure Active Directory and mobile device management (MDM) • Familiarity with SNMP-enabled devices and email authentication (DMARC/API tools) • Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, etc.) • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) If you meet these qualifications and are eager to contribute to our IT operations, we look forward to your application.
