Role : Windows Server System Administrator Client : DC Government Location : Washington, DC (Onsite) Job Description : Core Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy • Lead the planning and execution of server upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (Hyper-V/VMware) and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions • Monitor system performance and capacity planning • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures • Provide escalated technical support and troubleshooting • Mentor junior system administrators and provide technical guidance • Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support Technical Requirements Required Skills • 7+ years of experience administering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP • Strong experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V and/or VMware) • Proven experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation • Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) • Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimization • Microsoft certifications (MCSE, MCSA, or newer role-based certifications) • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) • Knowledge of configuration management tools (SCCM, Ansible) • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools • Experience with security compliance frameworks HIPAA Preferred Skills Leadership & Soft Skills • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities • Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior staff • Strong documentation and process development skills • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Education • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field • Advanced technical certifications preferred --------------------------------------------- CONTRACT JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: 1.
