RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Provide technical assistance to the district's voice, wireless and infrastructure network teams including phones, network, security camera, and wireless equipment installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance. Basic knowledge in monitoring and management network devices, including wireless access points, switches, infrastructure wiring and Cisco unified communications. Work directly with various internal IT teams and external resources to promote and sustain voice and data connectivity in the district's current and future environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for basic configuration, monitoring and management of switching, routing, and wireless systems (VLANS, mac tables, ARP tables, routes and routing protocols, 802.11 versions, wireless security standards) Deploy and install network switches, routers, wireless access points, phones, and security cameras. Program, install and manage VOIP and soft phones, program call handlers and voice mailboxes and install and manage voice gateways for analog connectivity. Manage connectivity for analog and digital phone systems, SIP door phones, fire alarm control panel, site paging, gas meters. Use analytical skills to efficiently define and resolve network connectivity and performance issues on an enterprise TCP/IP network. Independently address network switch, VOIP phone, wireless access point and security camera issues. Support customer requests through service tickets to clearly identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues. Adhere to service level expectations Serve as the Primary (Tier 1) responder for the District's Infrastructure Services team, identifying and troubleshooting network issues. Provide technical support and on-call services to ensure 24x7 operations. Communicate and collaborate with District IT staff and leadership in resolving technical issues. Cross train with peers and share knowledge. EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years' experience in support of IT devices including switches, wireless devices, IP phones and other general hardware/devices. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor's degree required. Preferred field of study of computer science, information technology, or related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado driver's license. Preferred but not required ' ITIL Foundations, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT), Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos), CompTIA Linux KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Provide effective production support including accurate problem identification, troubleshooting, and ticket documentation. Strong organizational and time management skills. Achieve first-call resolution in a timely manner. Experience performing remote support. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft products (windows OS, outlook, O365) Awareness and working knowledge of security technology, local security, network security, and application security preferred. Understanding and basic administration of switching, VoIP technology, protocols and policy, network device operating systems (e.g. Cisco IOS) and network security.
