Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to support the critical data management and reporting needs of our Customs and International Trade operations. This position plays an integral role in the daily functioning of our global operations, as it ensures the accurate and efficient flow of trade data across multiple business units, Customs Brokers, and regions. As a key contributor to the development and maintenance of ETL pipelines, database management, and reporting systems, this role directly influences key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive operational efficiency, trade compliance, and decision-making at a multinational scale. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Python, Powershell, Alteryx) to provide real-time insights and ensure our international trade functions meet both regulatory requirements and business goals. Key Responsibilities: Database & Data Management: • Manage and maintain complex databases related to Customs and international trade data, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across global operations. • Design and optimize database structures to support trade and logistics operations that span multiple countries and business units. ETL Pipeline Development & Maintenance: • Build, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines in Python, Powershell, and Alteryx to streamline the extraction, transformation, and loading of trade-related data from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring timely and accurate data availability. • Adapt existing pipelines to accommodate new trade streams, ensuring scalability to support increasing global transaction volumes. Data Analysis & Reporting: • Use Power BI to create interactive dashboards and visualizations that provide real-time insights into international trade operations, compliance metrics, and logistics performance. • Prepare ad hoc reports in Excel, leveraging advanced features like VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, to support leadership decision-making across departments, regions, and trade operations. KPI Monitoring & Performance Metrics: • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that monitor the efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness of trade and logistics operations. • Analyze trade data to identify trends, optimize performance, and provide actionable insights that drive improvements across the multinational business. Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Work closely with the Customs, logistics, compliance, and IT teams to understand and meet their data needs, developing solutions that support daily operations and global trade objectives. • Provide timely data-driven insights to help teams navigate complex customs regulations, optimize logistics operations, and ensure compliance with trade laws worldwide. Customs Compliance & International Trade Knowledge: • Apply a strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and international trade compliance requirements to ensure that all data processes align with the necessary legal frameworks. • Leverage knowledge of international trade, logistics, and customs procedures to improve data accuracy and enhance business intelligence capabilities. Support & Documentation: • Document and maintain detailed records of data pipelines, database structures, and reporting processes to ensure continuity, compliance, and efficiency in operations. • Support the business in understanding and interpreting complex trade data, providing clear recommendations based on data insights. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: • Stay up to date with advancements in business intelligence, trade compliance, and data management technologies. • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data processes, optimize reporting systems Qualifications Qualifications & Skills: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, International Business, or a related field preferred. • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data development, or related roles with a focus on Customs and international trade operations. • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, and ETL process development (Python, Powershell, Alteryx). • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and international trade compliance, with preference for CCS certification. • Strong ability to work with large, complex datasets, and provide strategic insights through advanced data analysis and reporting. • Proven ability to develop and manage global data pipelines and performance metrics for multinational operations. Preferred Qualifications: • CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) certification or similar trade compliance certification. • Experience in logistics, supply chain management, or trade compliance data analysis within a multinational context. • Familiarity with additional data visualization tools like Tableau or Qlik.
