A Brief Overview The Cloud Infrastructure Architect serves as the lead technical architect of the underlying cloud Infrastructure platform of our Azure MCA Tenant. Will hold primary responsibility for in-depth design and best practices of compute, storage, networking and security. Works with multiple teams to establish consistent standards and best practices. Maintains current understanding of cloud and infrastructure trends and makes recommendations to continually improve company's cloud operating environments. Provides guidance and education and makes recommendations to other technology teams to help develop and improve company's cloud computing environments and technical solutions. What will you do? • Cloud Infrastructure Architecture and Design 50-60% Daily • Serves as the lead azure cloud infrastructure technical architect and consultant responsible for the architecture and design of the company's multi-region azure cloud infrastructure including cloud/hybrid networking, storage, compute, associated standards, policies and procedures. • May lead the technical design and architecture initiatives to lift and shift/optimize on-premises data centers to the company's azure cloud tenant. • Evaluates, selects and implements equivalent azure cloud-native solutions for a range of on-premises infrastructure tools and technologies needing to be shifted to the cloud. • Establishes tools, standards and processes to meet cloud infrastructure operating requirements including resilience, backups, recovery, platform health optimization, monitoring and compliance. • Establishes a repeatable azure infrastructure design process using well-known cloud frameworks such as the Azure Well-Architected Framework and the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework. • Continuously implement standardization and platform automation via proof-of-concept or proof-of-value demos. • Provides Azure Infrastructure thought leadership for multi-region cloud initiatives. • May lead best practices to implement security at all infrastructure levels using well accepted principles such as Defense-in-depth and Zero-Trust. • May lead and conduct infrastructure design/review workshops with stakeholders across IT, to enable enterprise solutions and processes such as disaster recovery. • Collaboration and Support 30-40% Daily • Collaborates with product development teams to onboard standardized infrastructure design, automation patterns and operating procedures, to enable multiple teams scale their outputs with time and quality. • Collaborates with cloud governance teams to establish cloud infrastructure governance in the areas of security, operations and cost optimization. • Collaborates with security, compliance and resilience teams to establish and meet targets for cloud infrastructure resilience, compliance, security. • Collaborates with application and data architects to provide technical input to reference architectures, application design, analytics design, integration design and automation. • Regularly gathers and communicates cloud infrastructure updates, deprecation warnings, innovation opportunities and other relevant technical notes to enable teams plan backlogs. • Continuous Improvement and Innovation 20-30% Daily • Maintains depth of technical knowledge via continuous learning as the Azure public cloud infrastructure evolves. • Participates in various architect events (i.e., conferences, seminars, webinars, online communities, etc.) and shares insights and understandings gained with other internal team members. • Maintains ongoing focus on continuous infrastructure improvements, well-documented standards, and established cloud framework compliance. Education Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required. computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study required. Experience Five or more years related work experience.
