Specific salaries will be based on individual qualifications, experiences, and market analysis. Additionally, the role may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. Skills • 5+ years of experience in large & complex application development environments, preferably in financial services • Strong programming experience in Python or similar server-side languages • Proven experience as an Azure Data Engineer or in a similar role • Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Azure Data Factory, Gen 2, Azure Databases, Functions, etc. • Strong SQL skills with experience in any RDMS • Experience with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc.) • Experience with Jira/Confluence • Good understanding of ETL/ELT • Working experience in Databricks and SQL Auto loader is a plus Responsibilities • Be part of the data strategy team across SMBC Capital Markets and Nikko securities teams • Actively develop the data platform, starting with a reference data system for securities and pricing data • Follow internal development standards to contribute to the overall agenda of the SMBC CM/Nikko development team Qualifications • 5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering • Strong background in data-heavy applications and systems • Proven ability to engage with large applications in complex environments Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Education Requirements Credential Category • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required Experience Requirements • Minimum of 5 years in application development, particularly in financial services • Experience with data engineering and cloud technologies is essential Why work in Jersey City, NJ Jersey City offers a thriving urban environment with close proximity to New York City, providing a vibrant cultural scene, excellent dining options, and a range of recreational activities.
