We are in search of a seasoned Azure System Administrator, proficient in Azure Infrastructure, Windows Server environments and Office 365. This is a hybrid role out of our Houston Home office near the Galleria. The Senior Azure System Administrator implements, monitors, and optimizes Azure solutions to ensure maximum performance, availability, and security of the Windows Server Infrastructure. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective cloud-based solutions that meet business objectives and contribute to the success of the organization. Responsibilities • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of Azure infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, databases, identity, monitoring, and disaster recovery solutions. • Architect and administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD), DNS, IIS, Group Policy, and Microsoft SQL Server. • Oversee administration of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Endpoint Manager (Intune). • Lead large-scale infrastructure and migration projects; manage implementation plans, resource allocation, and post-deployment optimization. • Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure capabilities with organizational goals. • Develop and implement advanced automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) strategies using tools such as PowerShell, ARM templates, and Azure Bicep. • Establish and maintain enterprise-level backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies across hybrid environments. • Conduct security assessments and enforce hardening standards in Azure, M365, and on-prem systems; ensure systems comply with regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, PCI-DSS). • Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues, providing root cause analysis and long-term remediation strategies. • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior administrators and IT staff. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • 8+ years of progressive experience in system administration, including at least 5 years managing Microsoft Azure environments • Experience with Fortinet is a plus • Microsoft certifications preferred: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred) • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (Preferred) • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (Preferred) • ITIL or other enterprise IT framework experience is a plus We are an equal opportunity employer.
