Position Overview We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will excel in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS-specific tools such as CloudFormation, AWS CDK, CodePipeline, and GitHub. This role requires strong proficiency in DevOps practices, automation, and collaboration across development and operations teams. AWS professional certifications are highly preferred, and familiarity with other cloud platforms like Azure is a plus. Key Responsibilities • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and AWS CDK. • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, integrated with GitHub for source control and collaboration. • Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of cloud resources to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline software delivery and improve system performance. • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using AWS services (e.g., CloudWatch, SNS) and other DevOps tools. • Ensure security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance with industry standards. • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and pipeline issues in a timely manner. • Stay current with emerging AWS features, DevOps tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement. • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role with a strong focus on AWS. • Hands-on expertise with AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, AWS CodePipeline, and GitHub for IaC and CI/CD workflows. • AWS Professional Certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) highly preferred. • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Strong experience with other DevOps tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, or Ansible. • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development. • Familiarity with networking, security, and monitoring in cloud environments. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. • Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience or certification in other cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect). • Knowledge of additional AWS services, such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, or RDS. • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence. • Contributions to open-source projects or a public GitHub portfolio. Additional Information Travel is based on client needs and typically between 25-50% per engagement; however, it can be up to 75%. At Impact Advisors, we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The compensation for this role includes a salary range of $140,000 to $192,000 and may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. This range reflects consideration of several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
