Lead Azure Data Engg Location - Warren, NJ. - Hybrid - 3 days onsite in a week Contract W2 Skills - Strong Azure Experience, ETL/ELT Background, Data Lake, Data Visualization, SQL, BI Tools ( Power BI or Tableau ), Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Lead Experience. Programming skills (Python, Scala) preferred. We need Lead Azure Data Engg with to build a single source of data lakehouse and data visualizations that empowers users to answer complex questions and drive actionable insights. This selected candidate will lead the data engineering team by architecting, designing and implementing robust and complicated data pipelines. Senior Data Engineers model data using modern tools and techniques and apply data engineering best practices to the production and maintenance of analytics code. This team delivers well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets so that business users can perform their own analysis while getting reliable, consistent answers. Data Architecture Define and implement the overall data architecture, including data ingestion, transformation, storage and consumption Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement Contributing to the development of data engineering best practices Taking ownership of data engineering projects Data Gathering & Transformation Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure that power business intelligence tools and enable data-driven decision making Test data to ensure it is of high quality, in all stages of the analytics pipeline, from data ingestion to delivery Ensures data models are running reliably in a production environment Provide relevant documentation on modeled data and metrics including data definitions, data lineage, business logic, sample queries to enable self-serve, analytics Data Analysis and Reporting Perform exploratory analysis, identify trends and patterns and draw conclusions from data sets Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analysis Insurance Industry expertise Understanding P&C insurance data, including policies, claims and underwriting data Applying knowledge of insurance concepts to data engineering tasks Experience with insurance specific software such as Guidewire is highly valued Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation Proficiency in data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes Experience working with Azure cloud (ADF, ADLS, Data Fabric, etc.) Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau Knowledge of database architectures and data modeling Familiar with software engineering practices such as version control with Git, Testing, and CI/CD Data Modeling Skills: Proficiency with modern data modeling concepts (tools and techniques) Proficiency in data profiling, data mapping, data standardization and integration concepts Experience in cleaning and transforming raw data into consumable information by applying business logic Data Analysis Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and patterns in data Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills to translate complex data insights into clear, concise, and actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences. Business Acumen: Understanding of core business concepts and the ability to connect data analysis to real-works business problems and opportunities Team Skills: Strong team collaboration skills Curious, empathetic, attention to detail, and relentless follow through Education Required: Bachelor s degree in MIS, business administration, statistics, computer science, or related field preferred.
