We need an English-fluent Data Engineer, based in Latin America, available to work remotely.We are looking for someone with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, who embraces changes while maintaining strong attention to detail. Responsibilities: Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows within Azure and Microsoft Fabric. Implement and maintain medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to enable scalable, governed, and performant data products.  Develop and manage data ingestion frameworks (batch and streaming) for structured and semi-structured sources. Support the creation of reporting-ready data models that align with business and analytics needs.  Ensure robust data quality, lineage, and transformation standards are embedded in solutions. Collaborate with the Data Architect on architectural decisions, providing input into design and implementation tradeoffs. Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise communication for project managers and non-technical stakeholders. Document pipelines, transformations, and design decisions to support long-term maintainability. Requirements: 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with cloud data platforms (Azure required and Fabric strongly preferred). Proven experience implementing medallion architecture at scale. Expertise in building data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Dataflows, or Fabric Data Pipelines. Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (Python, or PySpark preferred). Experience with data modeling (star schema, snowflake, dimensional modeling) for analytics and reporting use cases. Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and performance optimization. Excellent communication skills, able to explain both simple and complex data engineering concepts clearly. Experience collaborating with architects, analysts, and reporting developers in a team-based delivery model. It´s a Plus: Prior exposure to Microsoft Fabric (One Lake, Lakehouse’s, Data Warehouses, Semantic Models). Familiarity with Power BI and integration with enterprise semantic models. Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, deployment automation). Knowledge of finance, real estate, or investment management data domains is a plus. Compensation: The Salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $4,000 - $5,000 per month, depending on seniority and skillset. This position is for an independent contractor, through a payroll platform.
