This role will be instrumental in improving data-driven decision making by designing, developing, and maintaining a high quality data warehouse and robust analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles, a passion for data analytics, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Data Analytics Manager, you will empower teams across the company to generate reports for internal and external stakeholders and to independently develop reliable insights to drive company strategy. You will help shape analytics engineering for the data team, working closely with analytics, data science, and data operations to ensure data analytics pipelines are accurately and efficiently running and serving end-users. You will also be deeply involved in defining and enabling self-service business analytics, intelligence, and discovery. The salary range for this role is $130,000 -$160,000 depending on level of experience and geographic location. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Identify, define, and document Carrum’s core business logic Take an active role in migrating to our next-generation data infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, and provide technical leadership in evaluating and selecting an upgraded data warehouse stack Build and maintain data models and data marts, and write automated tests to monitor and ensure data is high quality, complete, and certified fresh Document and evangelize the adoption of this foundational source of truth data for strategic decision making Formalize processes for change management and version control Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements, then partner with other engineering teams to make it happen Propose and deliver automation solutions that reduce toil and repetitive tasks, freeing up time for higher-leverage work Be responsive to the needs of stakeholders with sometimes very tight turn-around requirements while looking to build scalable tools to further Carrum’s growth objectives We’re excited about you because you have… 7+ years of experience in data engineering and/or analytics engineering and a degree in a quantitative discipline, or 10+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record of delivering successful analytics solutions Deep expertise in SQL, dbt, python, and software development best practices Have experimented with or adopted AI productivity tools and are intellectually curious about how AI is transforming analytics engineering Working knowledge of cloud environments like AWS or Azure Working knowledge of data warehousing tech like DBT, Snowflake, Synapse, Databricks, and Fabric; DBT certification is a highly preferred Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau, Looker, and/or Sisense A strong grasp of data warehousing, scheduling, data modeling, and data quality An innate curiosity, an eye for detail, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. You stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data and analytics engineering.
